Description

This 3D printable Fountain is part of the Torbridge Cull 3D printed terrain set.

“I guess it’s a sacred place. Though you’d hardly know it with all the beggars and touts hanging about. They prey upon the pilgrims you know. I feel sorry for the people who arrive at the ‘Cull seeking the light up at Wightwood Abbey, only to be tricked and cheated by the hustlers at the fountain.” – Mickle Fed, market shopkeeper

At the heart of Torbridge Cull is the town square, and in that square a very unique fountain was constructed during the town’s wealthy past. It was built on the site of a naturally occurring spring, to provide rest and water to the many pilgrims arriving en route to Wightwood Abbey. At this spring there existed a small shrine important to the original inhabitants of the vale, and this shrine was incorporated into the design of the fountain, and members of the local faith as well as pilgrims would use the fountain as place to pay homage to their gods. For a time, there was harmony between all who visited the fountain and bathed in what were believed to be holy waters, but as Torbridge Cull fell upon hard times, internal and external strife plagued the vale, and the fountain became what it is today: a place that is more often occupied with locals washing their clothes and touts ready to prey upon any pilgrim that makes the journey. Still, the fountain retains its majesty and its solid construction serves it well. It is more of a meeting place now than a holy site, but water (holy or not) still flows from it readily, and any pilgrim who passes through the ‘Cull will stop and offer devotions at the shrine.
